While the news appears promising, there is speculation among X users that Inflection may be leveraging Anthropic’s Claude-3 Sonnet model.
In this X post, user Seshu Bonam presents a comparison of the responses from Pi and Claude-3. When provided with an identical prompt, both chatbots produce responses that are identical word-for-word.
Bonam pointed out that this would not be possible if Inflection used its proprietary model as they had promised.
Inflection was quick to point out that Bonam most probably faked the images and copy pasted the responses from Pi to Claude.
In response to this, Bonam shared a video showing how similar the responses are from the two chatbots.
This sparked a conversation among X users in terms of the ethical implications of Inflection “investigating” the incident.
Frankly, if Inflection 2.5 is truly built on top of Claude-3 Sonnet, then I am amazed. Given that Claude-3 was released on March 4 and Inflection 2.5 on March 7, the development time was merely THREE DAYS.
